Overall development planning for both banks of Longquan Stream

Regional Planning; Branding

Project Location: Longquan, Zhejiang Province

Project Period: 2021

Planning Area: 3 square kilometers

Client: Longquan Municipal Construction Bureau

Gazing at Longquan, we can witness the growth of China. The Longquan Stream stretches 80 kilometers. As the hometown water of Chinese national treasures, Longquan Stream has nourished Longquan celadon and Longquan sword with her water and soil. Looking back at its history, Longquan City thrives because of Longquan Stream; looking forward to the future, Longquan Stream also undertakes the key mission of promoting the “Longquan Revival”. One-tenth believes that the banks of Longquan Stream are not only a public space for the city but also a stage to display Chinese culture to the world. The plan proposes an overall vision for both banks of Longquan Stream: “Gazing at Longquan - Witnessing the growth of China”, a “culture-oriented” development model, two thematic shorelines in the north and south, four cultural thematic areas, and 30 “small but beautiful” cultural and artistic landmarks. One-tenth aims to take Longquan culture as an entry point to display Chinese values, lifestyles, and aesthetic experience, to recreate the cultural power of global influence, and to build a “flowing urban art gallery” on both banks of Longquan Stream, a showcase of Chinese beauty and a center of diverse interaction for the world.
